Weymouth aiming for festive cheer

The Terras host 12th placed Redditch United at the Bob Lucas Stadium on Saturday (3pm) after a successful run of four matches unbeaten for the home side.

Mark Molesley’s men will be hoping to get one more win before the big Ridgeway Derby on Tuesday afternoon. You can guarantee that the team will only be fully and only focussed on this game against the manager-less Reds. The Terras last outing against Redditch at the Bob Lucas way back in August last year and resulted in a 1-0 win for the Terras, with Charlie Davis scoring the winner from the penalty spot.

Redditch come into this game with the Terras having just parted company with manager Darren Byfield. The midlands based club would have been hoping to be in the upper region of the Evo-Stik Southern League but currently sit 12th after some indifferent form. The Reds have only managed to pick up 5 points from their last 6 games in the league. Former Terra Stuart Fleetwood will be unavailable for Redditch United, the 31-year-old striker remains suspended following a red card on his Redditch debut.

The Terras are bang in form and after a workmanlike performance at Banbury, they will be looking forward to getting going with the festive period of games. The Terras are in 3rd position in the table and results from other teams in midweek have made the race for promotion very interesting.

Going into this clash, Weymouth will be hoping to have Ashley Wells back to full fitness while Jake McCarthy remains out until the new year. Mark Cooper remains suspended until 1st January following his sending off in the 1-0 victory against Chesham United.
