WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley has said his side are looking forward to the challenge as they gear up for a month where they face seven games with five of them coming away from home, starting at Stratford Town on Saturday in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division (3pm).

The Terras were knocked out of the BigFreeBet.com Challenge Cup on Tuesday in a 1-0 defeat to Larkhall Athletic but that was their first defeat since they lost 3-0 away to Slough Town in the league on November 18.

Molesley said: “We have got some real tough away trips so big challenges ahead and I’m looking forward to them.

“It is one game at a time and we are not going to get carried away. You can’t look too far ahead so Stratford has got our focus at the moment and we have got a real tough month coming up.

“We are looking forward to the challenge.”

In their last league outing the Terras drew 1-1 with Bishop’s Stortford at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

Molesley reflected: “We are trying to get better and improve every game. There were some positive things and there were some things to be disappointed about.”

The Terras currently sit fourth and face a Stratford side that sit 13th in the table and 17 points behind the Bob Lucas Stadium side.

When the two sides met earlier in the season at the Bob Lucas Stadium Jordan Rose earned the Terras a last-gasp point after an unfortunate Mark Travers own-goal had given Stratford the lead.

In the defeat to Larkhall the Terras made eight changes and Weymouth assistant manager Paul Maitland expects that there will be vast changes from Tuesday night.

The Terras currently have a clean bill of health with everyone expected to be available for the trip to Stratford on Saturday.

Mark Cooper was taken off against Larkhall as a precautionary measure on the 59th minute but Maitland said he was fine after the game expects him to be available for selection.

On Tuesday Jake McCarthy signed a contract extension and made his first start for Weymouth against Larkhall since returning to the squad after suffering from appendicitis.
