WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley conceded that the Terras’ two week break ‘might not be the worst thing’ as they face a wait until their next game, a trip to Staines Town in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier South on Saturday, September 29.

The Terras have endured an off-colour run of form that has seen them exit the FA Cup in a first qualifying round replay defeat to Banbury United sandwiched between a 4-3 loss at Farnborough and a 2-2 draw at home to Hartley Wintney in the FA Cup first qualifying round.

Molesley said: “We want to play football games but it might not be the worst thing.

“We can sort of dust ourselves down and reorganise. It is no secret that we are missing some key players as well but having said that some players are coming in.”

Despite the dip in form the Terras remain top of the league on goal difference.

However, five other teams are level with Mark Molesley’s men.

Molesley alluded to Callum Buckley and Josh McQuoid’s current injuries, pointing out that it is their entire left side missing.

Molesley said: “I am asking players to play out of position at the moment and things like that.

“So two weeks just to rest our bodies, hopefully get one or two back and then hopefully we will be fit and raring to go for the next game and to prove ourselves again.”

There have been positives from the run however, as Antonio Diaz and Jordan Ngalo have come into unfamiliar positions with both youngsters putting in promising performances.

When asked if the 2-2 draw with Hartley Wintney on Saturday was a fair result, Molesley conceded it probably was but pointed to a good performance at the start of the match.

Molesley said: “Yeah probably in the end.

“I have to say that we left ourselves a bit open at times and they had a couple of chances.

“I think we dominated the first half hour and then we were really poor and Hartley Wintney were dogged and worked hard and then created some good chances themselves so there is plenty of food for thought for us.

“We have got to go away and reflect and make sure we learn from this, learn from every game and keep working hard.”
