Paul Maitland has said that despite looking forward to the Terras testing themselves against St Albans, they must focus on matches against Kings Langley and Salisbury first.

The Buildbase FA Trophy has drawn Weymouth against old-rivals St Albans City. A draw which has got many Terras fans reminiscing about encounter between the two sides in the 2006 Conference South title chase.

Maitland has said that himself and Mark Molesley are both relishing the prospect of facing the National League South side.

Speaking to theterras.com Maitland said, “Me and Mark spoke about the St Albans tie, it will give us an opportunity to give us a benchmark of where we are at.

“Obviously, that is the league we would like to be competing in as soon as we can. They are a well-established National South side, so they will come as favourites despite us being at home.

“I think it’s a game that our players will thrive in playing in and look forward to.”

Before the tie with St Albans City Weymouth first have two league games to play, King Langley away on Saturday and Salisbury at home next Tuesday; games which Maitland has described as ‘massive’.

“We need to turn our attention to two massive league fixtures, put St Albans to one side and think about them next week after the Salisbury game. We need to turn our attention to Kings Langley and Salisbury, two really big games.

“Hopefully we’ll have good numbers there on Saturday and hopefully next Tuesday we’ll have a really big number to cheer the boys on in what promises to be a pulsating game.”

Callum Buckley was rested for Tuesday’s game against Street, having recently came back from injury; Maitland confirmed that the left-back will be back this weekend but that Ashley Wells will still be out for another week.

“Buckley will be back available on Saturday, Wells has stepped up his rehab but Saturday might come a little bit too soon for him.

“There is never an easy game at Kings Langley, they play their pitch well, but we go there confident, it was a good win at Street and a clean sheet.

“We are top of the league so we should go there full of confidence.”
