MARK Molesley wants his Weymouth side to replicate their recent run away from home in front of the Bob Lucas faithful when they host Basingstoke Town in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier South tomorrow (3pm).

The Terras have recorded back-to-back wins in the league for the first time since early December with respective 4-3 and 2-0 triumphs away at Salisbury and Gosport Borough.

Molesley told Echosport: “We are looking forward to getting in front of our home faithful because I feel that we have rewarded our away fans with some really good performances.

“I think they have seen all of the attributes in the last two games. They have seen some good quality football, they have seen some real good defending, some real grit and determination and they have seen a lot of good character from the boys.

“We want to go and put that show on in front of our home faithful as well.”

With results having gone in their favour of late, Weymouth sit four points behind league leaders Taunton Town, but with three games in hand over the Peacocks.

However, speaking after their 2-0 win over Gosport, when it was pointed out to him that the results had fallen favourably for them, Molesley said his side just focus on themselves.

Molesley said: “We let everyone else do the conundrums, work out what has happened, we just concentrate on ourselves.

“What anyone else does is out of our control.

“We make sure we work hard and train hard and be the best we can.”

They face a Dragons side that lie outside the relegation zone on goal difference.

Molesley admits this has taken him by surprise, but had high praise for Basingstoke.

Molesley said: “I am really surprised by where they are but it just shows how tough this league is, a side of Basingstoke’s quality.

“They have been on a little bit of a blip at the moment and they have fallen just outside of the relegation zone.

“I would be surprised if I saw them there at the end of the season given some of the quality that they have got but we will give the utmost respect to the teams that we play.

Ben Thomson was assessed yesterday after missing Gosport due to a calf injury.
