Chickerell Primary Academy has been focusing on well-being this past week. Weymouth goalkeeper Tom McHale came into talk to children in Year 5 and Year 6 about important subjects linked to this.
The children took part enthusiastically in a Q and A session which encompassed a number of different topics.
Dawn Hulland, a year 6 teacher, commented, “He had a superb rapport and manner with the children, he is a great role model.”
Wendy Simmonds, a teacher in Year 5, added, “Children loved having a real football player in the classroom. This was a brilliant addition to Wellbeing Week and Tom showed how many important aspects there are to football, such as teamwork and having a positive attitude – it is more than just a game.
“We look forward to continuing this positive relationship with Weymouth F.C”
Terras Director Mark Golsby says it’s important that the club continues to get involved. “At Weymouth FC we are delighted to be involved with important projects like this.
“We are keen to be more involved within the community and especially with schools and younger people.”
If any school or club in the area would like Weymouth FC to be involved in their project they should contact mark@golsby.net or call 07506 826524.
