JAKE McCarthy says anyone can beat anyone, as Weymouth prepare to host Chesham United in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier South (3pm).
The Generals have lost just twice in the league in the calendar year so far and will face a Terras side that can win the title with a victory, combined with Taunton Town not beating Hendon.
McCarthy said: “I think they have been on a good run lately, I think they have only lost once or twice in this calendar year so like I have said when anyone asks about any team in this league, it is never an easy game really.
“You always see results in this league where some teams beat people and you think ‘oh god that is a bit strange,’ but having played in the league now for two years anyone can really beat anyone, like you saw at the weekend with Beaconsfield beating us.”
McCarthy is happy with the situation Weymouth are in, but is not getting carried away.
McCarthy said: “Obviously going into the last three games of the season, five points clear is a very good situation to be in.
“But we have got to take each game as it comes starting with Chesham so full focus towards that, and then we think about Poole after the game.”
McCarthy hopes that there will be a good turnout from the fans, particularly with the potential title victory at home.
McCarthy said: “I would like to think there will be a good turn out from the fans, like there always is anyway but I would like there to be even more fans than what there is usually.
“You would like to think a lot of people would want to see us win it (the title) at home on that day, it would be a special moment to be there.”
