MARK Molesley paid tribute to Brandon Goodship for helping to put Weymouth back where it should be, after the striker departed for Southend United.
The Shrimpers currently reside in League One, four tiers above where the Terras were playing last season, in which the Terras earned promotion to the National League South.
Molesley told Echosport: “I would just like to go on record and give a sincere thank you to Brandon Goodship, who has come in and achieved great things at this football club and help fire this football club back to the place where it should be.
“He has been a role model for every other player coming in that if you back yourself and apply yourself this is what can happen.”
Molesley admitted it was disappointing for his side to lose their top scorer but emphasised how great a move it was for the striker.
Molesley said: “It was disappointing for everyone to lose our talisman, but at the same time it is a bittersweet moment, what a fantastic move it was for him.
“Brandon leaves with everyone’s blessing because he has done fantastically well for the football club, he has come in and done everything that we wanted him to.”
Molesley also praised him for setting the standard, showing how players can move up the leagues if they do well at the Terras.
Molesley said: “He has jumped up multiple levels there, he has set the standard for everyone else, come in and do well and you can move up the levels. We are either looking to go up the levels together or if not you can secure yourself a move higher.”
