After a faultless Pre-Season and a dramatic but deserved opening day victory over Maidstone at the Gallagher Stadium, attention turns to the Bob Lucas Stadium and our first home league game back at this level for about 9 years. Bath City are the visitors for what promises to be a mouthwatering clash at the home of the Southern League Champions.

We all know what happened in the last competitive game at the Bob Lucas Stadium back on 27th April and a few months on from that triumphant day, fever pitch is just as high for this game with the Romans. Bath finished inside the Vanarama NLS Play-Off places in the last campaign and they are reasonably established at this level. Jerry Gill is their manager, a familiar face to the Terras fans. They got their season off to a start after a 2-0 home win against Braintree Town.

On the team news front, it will be interesting to see how the Manager uses his squad over the next few weeks. As the team sheet on Saturday proved, there were many big hitters that didn’t make the squad let alone the team. On a personal milestone, Jake McCarthy is set to make his 100th appearance for the club if he features against the Romans.

Bath were tipped as one of the favourites to get a Play-Off spot this season and after Weymouth’s superb victory at Maidstone, this really has all the ingredients to be an interesting night at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

Thoughts from the gaffer

“We played in front of 2000 fans at Maidstone and there is no reason why we can’t have a huge crowd of our own on Tuesday. I urge our fans to get right behind us as they always do. We could only really enjoy the win (at Maidstone) for 15 minutes but our attention immediately turns to Tuesday for what we know will be a good challenge against Bath.”
