League sponsors Vanarama hope you will get involved as MANarama makes a very big return!
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly…
If the ‘ugly’ is a draw away from home on a Tuesday night, things aren’t going too badly, are they? It was a fantastic month for the Terras, let’s be honest.
The high point?
Winning away in this league is not easy. It was at St Albans City. Perhaps the result which made the fans think this good start could actually turn into something.
What about the rest of the league in September?
Wealdstone are still five points clear but in fact the team of the month were actually Slough Town – the Rebels enjoyed four straight Vanarama National League South wins in a row and cup romp. Like the Terras, Dorking and Braintree all took ten points from their four matches, while Hemel won three of their games.
The month’s star player…
Where to start! Brett Williams? Ollie Harfield? Jake McCarthy? Take your pick, guys and girls.
Stat attack:
Weymouth have only let in one goal this month – no other side has been that tight in September!
How do things compare to September 2018?
It was very different! One win in the four games, against whipping boys Staines gave little evidence of what was ahead. A year is a long time in football!
Attendance check:
Against Welling it was 1,034 and 921 turned up for the Concord game. That means an average of 1,175 this term – making the club the fourth best supported in the division so far.
Who can’t stop scoring?
Havant’s Jonah Ayunga still leads the way with nine, even if most of those came in August. Second is Wealdstone striker Ross Lafayette with eight while Liam Nash (Hemel Hempstead) Jake Robinson (Billericay) Jason Prior (Dorking) and Joe Iaciofano (St Albans) all have seven to their names.
What does October look like?
Well, in the league at least the next two games are against sides who failed to win in September. After Dulwich and Eastbourne Borough it’s Braintree – and they took as many points as the Terras last month.
