Weymouth return to action and return to the Bob Lucas Stadium for Matchday 16 in the Manarama National League South.

For one reason or another, it feels like ages since the Terras were last at home. On that day the team beat Braintree 3-0 at a soaked Bob Lucas Stadium. Since then Weymouth picked up a draw at Eastbourne and then, of course, we had the bizarre and disgraceful situation last weekend. It goes without saying that the club has correctly come out in support of Billericay Town in this matter and hopefully they can find out who was responsible for such a shameful act.

Obviously that particular situation, it isn’t ideal for the Terras as they now have to make that journey on a Tuesday night. It is what it is in that regard. This game will give the Terras the opportunity to keep cementing their position inside the National League South play-off places.

Hampton and Richmond lost their most recent game at home to Dartford on Tuesday night. They have though picked up on their form in recent weeks after languishing at the bottom end of the table. Before the Dartford game, they won 3 games on the bounce, beating Welling Utd and Hungerford away and then Maidstone at home.

The Terras sit 5th and continue to pick up results. AFC Bournemouth loanee Brennan Camp has won two consecutive man of the match awards after impressing the Terras faithful in a 3-0 win over Braintree Town, and then in the draw over at Eastbourne. It is nearly a fortnight since Weymouth were last in action so they will be itching to get back out there.

Thoughts from the Manager

“We have been doing well and you want to keep that run going, you don’t want to break your stride. Hampton are probably one of the in-form teams of the past month and have had some good wins against good sides. We will give them the respect they deserve. They have done well in this league historically and are on a good run, so we have got to be fully aware of their threat but make sure we have the confidence to show what we are about.”
