In what feels like ages, finally, The Terras return to action as they travel to Essex to take on Billericay Town.

Weymouth come into this clash having had a Saturday off due to Hemel Hempstead Town having 3 players missing due to international duty. Yes, you are reading that correctly! However, in their last game, The Terras picked up a battling 3 points in a tough 2-1 win over Hampton and Richmond Borough. Hampton impressed on that day at the Bob Lucas Stadium and it is no real surprise that they went on to beat league leaders Wealdstone in their following game. Saturday’s results mean that Weymouth sit 7 points behind the Stones. They can move to within 4 points with a victory at New Lodge.

Our hosts have announced some difficulties off the pitch in recent times with previous owner Glenn Tamplin leaving the club. Tamplin has recently joined Romford Town as owner and he has named himself as the manager. Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara took on the managerial duties at the Essex club after Harry Wheeler was dismissed from his post earlier in the season. In truth, their results have been a bit hit and miss. Their most notable result has to be a 4-2 success against Sutton United in the FA Cup, therefore putting themselves in the First Round of the competition. They went on to lose 4-0 to Forest Green in the First Round. Their most recent result was a hard-fought 1-0 win away at Dulwich Hamlet.

The Terras sit in an impressive fourth place after a weekend without a game and Mark Molesley’s men are now nine games unbeaten in the league. They will be looking to extend that run and close the gap at the top with a result in Essex before returning to the Bob Lucas Stadium on Saturday as Hastings United visit in the Buildbase FA Trophy.

Thoughts from the Manager

“Billericay are much fancied this year and have some fantastic players and it’s another game we should be looking forward to. This is why we worked so hard to get into the league for these games. We’re in and around the higher reaches of the table and so are they, so it promises to be a great game, one we’re looking forward to and hopefully one that we’ll enjoy.”
