Match Preview

Weymouth take on Dorking Wanderers at Meadowbank as the Terras look to extend their unbeaten run in the Vanarama National League South.

Mark Molesley’s team come into this one off the back of two consecutive victories at home. Last weekend a late Josh McQuoid goal secured three points against Hungerford and in the week, a mixed squad including Under 18’s picked up a 2-0 win against Poole Town in the Dorset Senior Cup.

This game starts a run of 3 away games in 7 days for Mark Molesley’s team. Dorking will present a tough challenge but Weymouth will rightfully be full of confidence going into the game. The hosts play their football on a plastic pitch and the Terras have historically done well and returned with good results on these surfaces.

Before last weekend and a 2-0 home win against Welling, Dorking hadn’t won in the league since 12th October but they have boasted some good results and sit in 6th position in the table, 4 points behind the Terras. They were promoted into the National League South this season after sauntering to success in the Isthmian League Premier.

Thoughts from the Manager

“It’s the start of a really tough week. As always, we look at it and we’re excited by it. There are some great challenges coming up, none more so than (tomorrow). Dorking, like ourselves, got promoted and have started really well in the league.”
