Ollie Harfield catches up with theterras.com in our latest player interview. He assesses our chances, praises the character of the team and gives us an update on his dog Bailey.
Josh Barton: It’s a busy stage of the season and we are getting towards the business end. How do you assess our chances?
Ollie Harfield: We are lucky enough to be in a situation where if we look after our business, we will secure a playoff position. However, we can’t look any further ahead than our next game.
JB: With the amount of bad luck we’ve had with injuries, I guess it shows the character of the whole squad to even be in this position?
OH: Injuries have hit us hard recently but we have a very strong squad and competition for places is high. For many outsiders, it’s probably a surprise for them to see how we have done this season but inside the camp, there is a high expectation of where we want to get. Although saying that, we haven’t achieved anything just yet!
JB: Good answer that. I reckon you must be due a goal soon. One around the corner?
OH: You’d certainly like to think so! I’ve always got assists rather than goals and I have definitely nearly forgotten what it’s like to score! But then so has Thommo! As long as the team are scoring it doesn’t matter where the goals come from!
JB: I’m sure Thommo will appreciate that one. How is Bailey the dog? Are you dog whisperer as well as the horse whisperer now?
OH: Definitely not! Bailey doesn’t seem to listen to me! He will be coming to the home games soon so will be the new Terras mascot.
JB: Targets for the rest of the season?
OH: It has to be to secure a playoff place. It’s in our hands to do it so we just need to be prepared for the fight and hopefully, that’ll get us over the line.
