Josh McQuoid catches up with uptheterras.co.uk as the Terras captain extends his stay at the Bob Lucas Stadium ahead of our long awaited return to the National League
Josh Barton: Firstly, how much are you looking forward to another season with the club as we move into the National League?
Josh McQuoid: Yes definitely. It’s exciting times for everyone. I’m looking forward to the new challenges and to test myself at that level again.
JB: Back to back promotions. It must have been a great feeling when the shootout was won?
JM: Back to back promotions at any level is a massive achievement, so when we went through on penalties was a amazing feeling. To be honest there was a bit of relief as well. Watching penalties is never nice!
JB: It’s going to be a slightly new era for the club now. Are you confident that we can do the business back at the top level of non-league football?
JM: I don’t see why we shouldn’t be confident in ourselves. We will go into the new season full of confidence from the previous season. We have played sides in the cup from the league above and more than held our own. We know it’s going to be a challenge but it’s all one we are looking forward to.
JB: Just finally, a message for the fans who we are sure will be looking forward to the start of the new season and getting back to the games.
JM: Massive thank you to all the fans over the past few months. It’s been a difficult time for everyone and they still managed to be a massive part of our promotion helping with fundraising and other just being brilliant. We wouldn’t of managed it with out them. I’m looking forward to the new season, and I can’t wait to see everyone back in the stadium and making that atmosphere that we’ve all missed so much!
