Where do I start?
The journey we have been on together has been quite remarkable to say the least, and without the wonderful support we have received from everyone associated with Weymouth Football Club, we would not have been able to achieve what we did.
We really did all become family, pulling together to defy the odds! This latest promotion showed how special this football club is, not only did we prove the doubters wrong, but to put on two games to Premier League standard, under Covid restrictions, with a team of essentially volunteers and all without any help from anyone outside our Weymouth family, is something we can all be proud of.
I will always be forever grateful for the opportunity to manage this great club.
As I once said at my first press conference “We hope one day to leave this club in a better place than we found it and will always work our hardest to make sure that happens”.
On behalf of Tom Prodomo (my assistant, an unsung hero, who always goes the extra mile) and I, we would like to thank every player who has ever worn the shirt for us, the Chairman Ian White and Directors for supporting and doing everything in their power to help us achieve our dreams, the volunteers (who I have always been so demanding of) who give so much for so little, and lastly, my wonderful staff who have worked so hard for me and who have always gone above and beyond – without them none of this would have been possible! The time and efforts they have all invested into this club cannot be repaid!
A special mention to Paul Maitland for his faith and belief in me and his unwavering support.
Forgive me for the formality in writing this – I attempted a video message but struggled to get my words out. It has not only been a whirlwind couple of weeks, but an emotional one too.
I said to the lads they will go down in the history books of this club, and go down as legends if they could complete double promotions and get Weymouth FC back to where it belongs. Well they did it! Memories for life that cannot be forgotten, bonds that can’t be broken, Terras family for life!
It has been one hell of a ride, thank you for everything!
