Weymouth hit back to sink Slough
SLOUGH TOWN 2
WEYMOUTH 4
WEYMOUTH overcame a battling Slough Town to preserve their unbeaten pre-season record under new boss Brian Stock.
Ben Harris grabbed both Slough strikes, the first coming as the hosts caught Weymouth out from a short corner, Harris heading home Jack McKnight’s cross before Weymouth levelled through a powerful Andreas Robinson strike.
Harris profited from a delicious ball over the top from Matt Lench to make it 2-1 – but Robinson equalised again with a sumptuous dipping free-kick that rocketed into the top corner.
Weymouth dominated after the break as Brennan Camp’s header wobbled the bar before Cody Cooke tapped home when new signing Sam Pearson’s shot hit the post.
Jake McCarthy wrapped up the win by rifling home in the 90th minute.
Terras: Bycroft, Harfield, Anderson, Olumuyiwa (Pearson 46), Camp (Leslie-Smith 73), Ngalo (Thomson 46), Robinson (Whelan 62), Wakefield (McCarthy 62), McQuoid (Murray 62), Brooks, Cooke (Santos 79).
Weymouth host Ebbsfleet on Saturday (3pm).
