Thoughts on the game
“We gifted them two goals, teams in this division like Halifax will always punish you for those mistakes. The half time came at a good time which gave us time to re-organise. I was really pleased with the reaction and from the whistle we dominated the first twenty five minutes of the second half. We looked more energetic, more aggressive in our pressing and at 2-1 we looked like a team that would score again but unfortunately the momentum was taken away from us and the third goal knocked the stuffing out of us. I was obviously disappointed to lose the game 5-1 but I will take away the positive start to the second half and look to implement that come Tuesday.”
On the fans return
“I’d like to say first and foremost that the biggest disappointment for me was that I didn’t go over and thank the fans at full time. I’ve gone on record stating how much we will need the fans and I can only apologise for not going over to thank them all. In the heat of the moment all I was thinking of was to go in to the changing room and dissect things from the game with the players and staff like I have done all season.
I would like to thank the fans for the atmosphere they created and for sticking with us throughout the game, it’s been great to have you back.”
Dagenham on Tuesday
“It’s an opportunity to turn it around. It’s very important to not dwell on the situation. We looked too open at the back today and we can’t be like that in this league. In transition, we looked like we were going to score but we also looked like we were going to concede far too often. It wasn’t through a lack of effort, we just need a more professional approach to not make mistakes in certain areas of the pitch. We go into Tuesday with an opportunity to bounce back at home and the players and staff will be giving everything to ensure that happens.
“Finally, again, thank you for your support, Terras fans!”
