WEYMOUTH have signed striker Christian Saydee on a youth loan from Bournemouth.
Saydee, 18, is a promising forward who earned a taste of first-team squad action when Cherries’ boss Eddie Howe selected him in the 2019/20 Premier League campaign.
In November 2019, Saydee top-scored for the Cherries’ under-18s with 13 goals.
In the previous season, he claimed 18 goals and 18 assists before suffering a medial collateral ligament injury.
Terras’ boss Brian Stock told Echosport: “When I found out Christian was available it ticked quite a lot of boxes.
“I’ve worked with Christian and he’s a very, very strong boy for his age. He can hold the ball up well.
“He’s gone down as a youth loan as well, which is great. He’s an up and coming lad, he’s had quite a lot of taste of the (Cherries) first team.
“His education of what we’re trying to achieve here will fit in quite nicely in terms of what we expect as a striker and how to press from that position.
“He trained yesterday and fitted into the team very, very well.”
Saydee comes in after striker Shamir Mullings left the club in the wake of last week’s 3-2 loss at Wrexham.
The former Reading man could make his debut on Boxing Day when Weymouth travel to Eastleigh in the Vanarama National League (3pm).
