Weymouth Football Club are pleased to announce the loan signing of Cambridge United midfielder Ben Worman.
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder has joined on loan until the end of the season.
Worman has been with the League 2 side since he was 8 years old and became the youngest player ever to play for the club when he made his debut aged 16 in November 2017. He has previously had loan spells at St Neots Town, Bishop’s Stortford and Chelmsford City and has been a member of the first-team squad this season.
Weymouth manager Brian Stock told uptheterras.co.uk, “Ben has been involved with the Cambridge United first-team all season, but due to their form he has found minutes at a premium. He’s very well thought of at Cambridge and we’re excited to have him on board.
“He’s young, energetic, tenacious, and will bring quality and balance to the side. The decision to bring him in is one that makes sense for both us and Cambridge.”
Worman joins Cambridge United teammate, Andy Dallas, at the Bob Lucas Stadium. The midfielder is likely to feature against Maidenhead United this evening (19:45 kick-off) as the Terras return to Vanarama National League action.
