Following my previous update 2 weeks ago, I would like to issue a further update about our position.

I have read some of the speculation around the composition of the squad and the comings and goings that have happened. Albert White left following the arrival of Billy Terrell, George Ward has gone on a dual registration with Barwell and Jack Seddon missed the game yesterday through illness. In addition, Ahkeem Rose and Harrison Bruton both remain sidelined through injury. Claudio Ofosu is considering his options as a non contracted player.

As part of the club’s realignment of its finances, unfortunately those non-contracted players have been affected and may have to move on. The accommodation which wasn’t part of players agreements has been removed which has made a significant monthly saving. David has been given a revised maximum budget for both the playing squad and his staff and is up to him to use as he sees fits. Squads naturally evolve over a season and, as an example, both our promotion winning season’s squads were quite different to those we started with.

Off the pitch, we continue to strive forward and the position is a far more stable one, again if we want to improve we need to generate more money to enable us to fund that. Tonight we have a meeting with the Supporters Association with this subject high on the agenda. We are hoping to host a sportsman evening at the club towards the end of October, details to follow. I am also in discussion with David around an evening with the fans which we are trying to arrange imminently.

In the boardroom, meetings have been arranged with potential new Directors and once we are in a position to announce we will of course do so. Commercially, we are working on a few ideas that we hope will entice sponsors into the club.

Please keep supporting the club and team as best you can. We can all make a difference.

Regards,

Paul Maitland
