Competitive football returns to The Bob Lucas Stadium on Saturday, as Weymouth host Dartford in the second game of the season. The Terras will be looking to bounce back after losing their opening-day fixture against St. Albans, a game that saw a penalty missed for both sides and Weymouth ending the match the better team.
Dartford will be looking to build on the point they got from their six-goal thriller after conceding a late goal in the 94th minute against Bath City. Weymouth will have to keep an eye out for striker Luke Coulson who bagged 2 goals in that game as the striker looks to continue his fine start to the season.

Team News:

Weymouth will have new signings Nahum Melvin-Lambert and David Sesay available for the game.

Weymouth will be without Tyrique Clarke who remains injured after picking up a knock during training at the start of pre-season. Jordan Thompson continues to improve after his injury during pre-season.

Assistant Manager Mike Percival said early this week: “They (the lads) performed great last week but unfortunately didn’t get the rub of the green”

“We have worked hard and prepared effectively like we do every week for a challenging and physical test against Dartford”

Player Connections:

The stellar list of more notable players who have featured for both teams includes…Tommy Henderson, Ron Fogg & Ray Tumbridge.

More recently Pierre Fonkeu & Jordan Greenidge have featured in both dugouts but of course, two current Weymouth players will be very well known to the visiting fans.

Dan Roberts spent two years at the club until his release this summer and Norman Wabo graced Princes Park between 2019 and 2020, in fact scoring here for Dartford against Weymouth just a couple of weeks after his debut!
