The Terras suffered defeat in London on Saturday afternoon losing 2-0 to promotion chasing Sutton United.
The Yellows were pressing for a goal from the get-go, and they took the lead in the 14th minute. Beautyman put the ball into the area and Eastmond headed the chance in.
6 minutes later, the U’s were in again. Omar Bugiel was making his way down the left before weaving into the area. The forward cut the ball toward the centre of the area where Beautyman was there to fire it in. Fortunately Brennan Camp came across with a slide to block the shot which then went wide, past Bouzanis’ left post.
Weymouth got the ball down the pitch with haste at the beginning of the second half. A long ball from Ethan Ross drifted out to Josh McQuoid on the right. The Terras played the ball around well but were dispossessed and almost punished on the counter attack.
Sutton made it 2 in the 50th minute. Wilson took the ball down well, controlling it with his chest before turning and striking the ball on the bounce with his left foot. The ball rose beyond Ross into the top right corner.
Andreas Robinson took a free kick on the edge of the area. The midfielder attempted to curve the ball in with his right foot but the ball struck the wall and the chance was gone
Sutton thought they had scored a third soon after. Beautyman was played through with a delicate pass in the area. The striker, who had netted 12 league goals this season before today, dinked the ball over Ross but the pass was offside.
Stock changed things in the game, bringing on Pierre Fonkeu and Ben Thomson for McQuoid and Andy Dallas, but still they couldn’t break
Jake McCarthy had a chance at the death but his free kick deflected and needed Bouzanis to get down quickly to the right to make a save.
With that the game finished, the Terras second consecutive 2-0 defeat. They next travel north to Solihull Moors on Tuesday Night.
