The Dorset Senior Cup fixture away to Wimborne Town will now take place on Tuesday 12th December, KO 19:30

The FA rules relating to County Cups changed at the start of this season.

The County FA must nominate one week per calendar month where their cup take priority. The DCFA nominated the week coinciding with our visit to Torquay that was scheduled for yesterday in November and every subsequent month. This meant that the Torquay fixture was postponed and we were due to play Wimborne Town in the County Cup. Unfortunately the weather intervened and this fixture was postponed.

The rule change meant that instead of rescheduling the County Cup fixture for the following week and cancelling any game already on that date then the County Cup game is rescheduled for the next available free date for both clubs.

In this particular case Weymouth have league fixtures against Truro City (21/8) and Torquay United (5/12) and those dates are set in stone. Likewise, Wimborne Town have a league fixture against Larkhall Athletic (28/11) and again that date is also not available to the County FA.

The next date available is the 12th December which both clubs have no scheduled game. The County FA have reserved rights on that week anyway so if either club did have a game on that date the County Cup game would take precedence in any case.
