It’s matchday number three in our pre-season programme and a tricky trip to AFC Totton awaits as we lock antlers with the Stags but for manager Warren Feeney “It’s another fitness exercise, another game towards where we want to go”.
This meeting will mark our 11th meeting against this side in all competitions, the most recent being a behind closed doors friendly in 2020. The Terras can boast six wins against the hosts with four on the trot although this will be the first time we’ve played the Snows stadium based outfit whilst in a lower division in the football pyramid.
Our lads have so far produced away wins in Dorset against Portland and Wiltshire against Westbury (in a game where the gaffer was “pleased with the intensity” of our play) so he will no doubt be looking for similar effort levels in the visit to Hampshire.
The home side come into this fixture on the back of three opening pre-season wins, former Terra Malachi Linton featuring on the scoresheet in the most recent two games. Linton won’t be the only familiar face on show though as former loanee Christie Ward could line up to face one of his former clubs as could new signing Tyler Corder. In the past a slew of other players have featured for both clubs including Stephane Zubar, Jamie Coutts, Jordan Ngalo & Tom Blair.
However tomorrow’s charges will hope they can get the stags in their crosshairs as we continue to prepare for the season ahead!
