Weymouth FC Women are delighted to unveil our new #TerrasTogether initiative, which will allow us to create a clear structure within the club to provide never ending support off the pitch to past, present and future Weymouth FC Women’s players, as well as help build a friendly, supportive and encouraging environment for fans and anyone who uses football as an ‘escape’ from the struggles of everyday life.
#TerrasTogether is being launched by Weymouth FC Women to help provide better support to players and individuals around the club off the pitch. By building on the #LetsTalk campaign from two years ago we hope to create an environment that enables players to feel supported and able to talk to anyone about anything at any time.
With this, we have implemented within our current playing squad, a support network of coaches, who inside or outside of football, can provide support to players at any time, using a vast array of different qualifications and experiences to help any individual through the struggles and challenges that life sometimes throws at us. We have also committed over the next few years to continue building an off-pitch support network and partner with people or companies who we believe can help benefit our players and further boost their mental health and the positivity that we try to create within our environment.
Alongside this we are looking to increase our reach and support base into the local community, with an understanding that football should be a safe space for all and that some may use football as an escape from the pressures of everyday life. As such we will commit to handing out more school’s tickets than ever before, for all League Home Games over the 2025/26 season, as well as too Youth Clubs, Emergency Services and other areas of the community that would benefit from it.
Because of this Weymouth FC Women will be more active in the local community than ever before, which will involve players and staff making regular visits to schools and community clubs or groups. Schools all over Weymouth, Portland, Dorchester, Bridport and anyone else in the local area will have the option of school’s tickets, mascot packages and other match day or non-match day related experiences that will be personally tailored to each school.
Above all – #TerrasTogether is a belief. A belief that it is possible to unify and support a community and its people through football and the idea that football as a sport, is for all.
As a part of this new initiative you will now see #TerrasTogether posted on ALL Weymouth FC Women social media posts on every platform. As well as a whole host of longer-term plans and ambitions that will be released soon to help continue the growth of the #TerrasTogether initiative.
As soon as schools open back up in September, we will be contacting them to talk about what we can do to further engage with the community and make Weymouth FC as a whole club a beacon of support and positivity within the local community.
#TerrasTogether
