John Pritchard: Can you tell us about your first football memory?
Yemi Odubade: Playing football in the park with my Dad with one of those wind floating footballs!
JP: You could get so much ‘swaz’ on them, keepers had no chance! What was the first football shirt you owned?
YO: It was a West Ham shirt ‘99-2000 home shirt!
JP: With Weymouth in a strong position to get promoted, can you tell us your first major silverware in men’s football?
YO: Yes it was winning the Conference with Stevenage in the 2009-2010 season, we then went on to win the league 2 play off final the following year!
JP: Thats brilliant mate, bet there was a great celebration afterwards! We have seen you in a range of boots again recently, even pulling out the old vapors! What was the first pair of football boots you remember having?
YO: Yeah I pulled them out the cupboard because I knew the boys would appreciate them! Mmm… they were a pair of Mitre’s, wore them everywhere! They didn’t last long so my dad got me a pair of R Baggio Diadoras! Was well happy!
JP: Better than Thommo’s Gola studs! Can you remember your first time going into a pro club and your first day?
YO: Yeah my first pro club was Yeovil, 2004-2005 season under Gary Johnson’s first spell. Was on trial for two weeks, I was alright actually because they put me together with another trialist as well. He’s still a good friend of mine, we both got signed which was even better. I think a few fans might remember him because he came on loan here, Kezie Ibe.
JP: That’s great mate, I’m sure they will, he was just before my time of watching. Last one mate, can you tell us who your first footballing hero was?
YO: Yeah it was Ian Wright! Just loved watching him score goals and his celebrations!
JP: What a great player!
