WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley believes Andy Robinson and Jack Hoey will be “stronger” after the duo gained valuable match minutes in the 4-2 Dorset Senior Cup final win at Dorchester.
Robinson and Hoey are in contention to feature as Weymouth resume their Vanarama National League South campaign at play-off rivals Bath City tomorrow (3pm).
The Terras’ form is strengthening at the business end of the season, with Molesley’s men on a run of one defeat in 13 games in all competitions.
And fourth-placed Weymouth will be looking to back up Saturday’s stunning 5-1 thrashing of big-hitters Maidstone United with victory over fifth-placed Bath – the teams separated by goal difference.
Molesley told Echosport: “Jack and Andreas both did another hour (against Dorchester), so they’re getting some match fitness back.
“Getting Robbo and Jack back out on that pitch, the game’s come at a great time for them to really build their match fitness.
“I’m delighted to see them out, they’ve had a good hour’s work under their belt and they’ll be stronger for that.”
On tomorrow’s clash, Molesley added: “The boys should be buoyed and full of confidence.
“Don’t get me wrong, we weren’t at our best at times (against Dorchester) but that showed the character and resilience of the boys to turn the game around in our favour.
“There’s certainly areas to learn and improve from but there’s lots to celebrate as well.
“All games are going to be a tough challenge.
“Bath are one of the better teams in the league, otherwise they wouldn’t be where they are and where they finished last year (fifth).
“There’s respect for them and the challenge they pose, but we’re also relishing the challenge that brings.”
Captain Josh McQuoid and fellow striker Ben Thomson and Jaidon Anthony could return for Weymouth, along with Calum Ward, Shaun Hobson, Ollie Harfield and Calvin Brooks who missed the cup final win.
Cameron Murray is out and Brennan Camp remains doubtful.
Elsewhere, Weymouth will hold their annual general meeting on Saturday, April 4, the club has confirmed.
The AGM will take place at 12pm, prior to the Terras’ Vanarama National League South meeting with Hemel Hempstead.
Shareholders are encouraged to contact commercial@theterras.co.uk for a copy of the club’s 2018/19 accounts and to disclose questions, which must be given seven days prior to the AGM.
