BOSS Jason Mathews has urged his side to show their character, after suffering back-to-back 2-0 losses in their last two games.
The Terras were not at their best and were punished by St Neots Town at the Bob Lucas Stadium on Saturday, with Matthews also the victim of an unfortunate own goal in the first half.
The result leaves Weymouth with just six points from their opening five games, having not scored from open play in their last three fixtures.
Asked what he had to do to turn things around, Matthews told Echosport: “Stick together and keep believing in what we are doing.
“We get a lot of possession and just need a bit more cutting edge in the final third.”
He added: “You find out about people’s characters now. We will do a lot of work this week and make ourselves determined not to get beat next weekend.
“Let’s see where we are at after 10 (games). It’s a big couple of weeks coming up for myself and the team.”
On the setback against the Saints, the Weymouth keeper said: “The first goal was a sucker-punch from my own point of view. To touch it on to the bar and then have it come back and hit you on the back is a little bit cruel.
“It’s a bit of a freak really and that’s the way it seems to be rolling at the moment.
“Obviously our final ball lacked. I went with two up top and it probably wasn’t as potent as we would have liked it to have been.”
