Terras boss Geoff Butler hopes to include a new trialist in his side to face Poole Town at Tatnam Farm tonight, kick off 7.30pm. But the Wessex Stadium chief is staying tight-lipped as to the player’s identity.
He explained: “The left-hand side of midfield is a problem area for us at the moment and the lad in question might just be able to solve it. He’s a player who has gained experience in both the League and non-League game and I think he might prove to be a useful acquisition. First though, I need to have a closer look at him and hopefully that will be tonight. But I don’t want to start bandying his name about because it will only alert other clubs to his availability.”
Two players facing fitness tests before lining up against the Hampshire League outfit are striker Lee Phillips and defender Simon Browne.
Phillips continues to struggle with an ankle injury while Browne is recovering from a dead leg that he suffered in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Gravesend.
Butler added: “Neither injury is particularly serious and so I’d expect both lads to be available. However, there’s not a lot of point pushing things at this stage and so they’ll only play if they’re 100 per cent fit.”
Midfielder Mark Robinson is back in contention after missing the Gravesend match with a groin strain.
“I’m looking forward to the game”, added Butler. “Poole are a very ambitious club and I know they’ll give us a warm welcome. I’ve got a few good friends involved behind the scenes down there and I’m only too pleased to take a side along and give them a game.”
