HARD-WORKING Terras fan Brian Walbrin has been recognised for his efforts by being named Weymouth Football Club’s Volunteer of the Month for August.
Brian puts in hours of his time organising the Weymouth FC Travel Club and has raised thousands of pounds running the matchday meat draw and monthly Bingo Nights. He has also been responsible for bringing in a number of valuable sponsors to the club, including Manor Foods and Little Angus, who have been loyal and generous supporters of the Terras.
He was presented with his award by Tim Limbach from Dorset Water Centre, who will be hosting a special celebration event for the award winners towards the end of the season.
Weymouth FC commercial department’s Liz Bell said: “We have started the Volunteer of the Month awards to show our appreciation for the many valued volunteers who make such a contribution to the football club.
“Over the years, Brian has helped bring in tens of thousands of pounds to the club and he does this willingly and cheerfully and never asks for any praise or thanks. But he deserves a huge thankyou for his efforts and I hope he knows how much we all think of him and how much his hard work is appreciated.”
If you would like to nominate anybody for the September Volunteer of the Month award, please speak to Liz Bell in the office or call her on 01305 785558.
