JASON Matthews revealed Terras’ striker Conor Jevon has been subject of a seven-day approach from Dorchester Town.
The young frontman, who has now scored five first-team goals in his last two starts for the club, added to his tally with a brace against Wantage Town on Saturday.
Matthews is hopeful of keeping Jevon on board at the club and admitted he had been given some “food for thought” over his striker selection.
Asked about Jevon following Saturday’s fans’ forum at the club. Matthews told Echosport: “He has done well and we have had a seven-day approach from Dorchester for him.
“Jem (Mark Jermyn, Dorchester manager) is in a slightly different position to me and he is going about his business.
“Obviously I will speak to Jevo in the week, I feel he has done really well in the games he has played.
“He stared the first two games of the season on merit, then went on holiday and he had to fight his way back in. He has done that well.
“He did really well on Saturday and could have probably bagged himself three or four up top. You can only score against the opposition you are up against and Jevo has done that. He has given me some food for thought.”
Speaking about Jevon, Avenue boss Jermyn said: “They have five strikers so he’s obviously down in the pecking order.
“But, he scored against Wantage so he’s a player of interest and he’s a local lad. He fits all of the criteria that we have.”
