WEYMOUTH will be looking to record a league double over Redditch United on Saturday (3pm) with boss Jason Matthews fully aware that his side need to put on a positive display.
The Terras, currently 18th in the league with games in hand on all but one team in the division, face a Reds’ side that they beat back in August, thanks to a Charlie Davis penalty.
Matthews felt his side “totally outplayed them (Redditch) in every department” during that victory early in the season and is looking to do the same thing at the Valley Stadium.
He told Echosport: “We played really well at home against Redditch but it will be a different proposition going to their place. It’s always a tough place to go and with them having a new 3G surface, it should be interesting.
“Obviously it’s now getting to a critical stage where we need to start picking up points.
“We need to pop the ball around and put on a good performance, it’s about getting three points on Saturday.”
Weymouth could also be boosted by the potential return of Stephane Zubar this weekend, as he continues to recover from a calf problem.
Matthews added: “Stephane has made good progress this week but we are still not 100 per cent sure whether he will be able to start.
“The biggest thing for me is he is a winner and a leader on the pitch, that’s something we probably haven’t had since we let Pat (Baldwin) go.”
Keeper Dan Thomas is still 50-50 with his ongoing hip problem, Dean Evans is suspended but Jake Wannell is expected to be fit.
