WEYMOUTH boss Mark Molesley is keen to see his team continue to improve as they prepare to travel to Wimborne Town (3pm) in their final pre-season game tomorrow.

The Terras have enjoyed an impressive pre-season so far, including a 1-0 win over Exeter City, but Molesley is expecting no freebies from Wimborne, who ply their trade one rung below them in the Evo-Stik South West league.

He told Echosport: “We’re looking to see some improvements and looking to get fitter and stronger and for our philosophy to come out in more detail.

“Wimborne are a good side in the way they play, they are definitely going to give us a test. I expect a good strong game from them as well.”

Molesley also revealed that goalkeeper Mark Travers will miss the game, but Ben Thomson is set to return to the fold.

“We’re still going to be without Mark Travers as a precaution. He’ll be back in training next week. He’s got concussion and we haven’t got to take any risks in pre-season.

“Ben Thompson is back so it will be good to get some minutes into him and build on the continuity and progress we’ve made so far,” he said.

Asked whether a lack of goals is a consideration at present, having only scored eight in pre-season so far, Molesley was relaxed.

He said: “I’m looking to see some of our patterns that we’ve been working on. And out of possession I’m looking for us to be strong, resolute and hard to beat.

“We have got to score goals to win football matches but it’s not an area of great concern for me at the moment.”
