WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley iterated a desire to have the top goalscorer in the league again following the signing of Warren Bentley from Poole Town.
The Terras had Brandon Goodship as the top goalscorer in the league last year with his 38 goals and Weymouth have since signed Tony Lee and Warren Bentley while keeping Goodship, Harry Baker and Ben Thomson.
Molesley said: “We had the top goalscorer last year and we hope to have the top goalscorer this year as well.
“Tony can play in a few positions so he is probably more of a replacement for Calvin (Brooks) at the moment. So adding Warren we have got four forwards but I would say three out of the four can play in other positions. We played a couple of different formations last season and you can never have enough goals in your team.
“There is plenty of competition for places and plenty of options and you can never have enough goals and I think he adds to what we have already got. It is not about replacing anyone it is about adding, just adding now.”
Molesley is happy to have kept together the squad that finished fifth in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division last season.
Brooks has left the Terras to join the Army, while Will Dennis and Thiago Caze da Silva left following the end of their loan and contract respectively.
Molesley said: “We did well at the end of the season securing all of our team, fortunately we only lost one to the Army and that was Calvin (Brooks) and we got a replacement in Tony and we also brought the goalkeeper in Jordan (Seabright) but they were all tied up at the end of the season.
“I’m delighted to keep the squad together.”
The Terras have also had Robbie Yates join as a goalkeeping coach and Dave Popejoy join the backroom staff.
n Weymouth have announced several names for a match that will see Terras Legends take on AFC Bournemouth Legends at the Bob Lucas Stadium on Sunday, July 29.
Garry Hill will manage the side that will feature the likes of Jason Matthews, Ian Hutchinson, Trevor Challis, John Waldock and Shaun Wilkinson.
The Terras will make further announcements in due course.
