WEYMOUTH boss Mark Molesley said that there are not too many better finishers than Brandon Goodship, as the Terras’ striker hit the 50-goal mark for the Terras during the FA Trophy first qualifying round 3-1 win at Taunton.
Goodship scored the first goal to reach 50, less than a year-and-a-half after signing for the Terras.
Molesley said: “There are not too many better finishers around than Brandon or certainly I haven’t come across them. I knew exactly what I was getting. I just knew all I needed to do was to get the players to get him those chances.”
Molesley praised just how quickly the striker has reached the milestone.
Molesley said: “It is a true testament, not only to 50 goals, but to how quickly he has got 50 in such a short space of time. He has been prolific.”
The milestone comes after he scored 38 goals in the league last year, which helped the Terras reach the play-off semi-finals.
Molesley said “I think if you were to play them 50 goals in a row, they are 50 very, very good goals.
“There are not too many tap-ins.
“It is not only how prolific he has been it is the style of the goals, it is the technique that you need to take them sort of goals.”
Molesley added: “He should sell the DVD because I’m sure he would make a bit of money from it.”
Meanwhile, due to the involvement in the FA Trophy, the Terras’ scheduled league game at home to Gosport Borough will now take place on Tuesday, November 27 (7.45pm).
