MARK Molesley was pleased for new Terras’ recruit Ryan Glover after he made his debut only hours after meeting his team-mates during the 2-1 win at Basingstoke Town.
Glover replaced Josh Carmichael in the 60th minute, with the two sides level at 1-1 and Weymouth went on to win 2-1 thanks to a 75th minute goal from Ben Thomson.
Molesley said: “I thought he did really well, again he is a young lad but physically he is not young.
“He is quick, he is strong I thought he came on and had a good impact on the game especially as he first met the boys on the coach up here.
“I was very pleased with his impact and I am sure he will be a useful asset for Weymouth and again I thank Bournemouth for the relationship there as well.”
Glover is familiar to Molesley, who also works at the forward’s parent club Bournemouth as a coach in the under-21s.
Molesley said: “Obviously he is no stranger to me working at the football club. He plays for the under-18s but has stepped up to the under-21s who I work with quite a lot.
“He is obviously still very young and has got a lot to learn but that what he is here for, to develop his career and it is a good place for him to do that.”
The timing of the signing, which was announced half an hour prior to the start of the match against Basingstoke, sees Glover reinforce the forward line that has taken a knock with the injury to Josh McQuoid and Antonio Diaz departing for Dorchester.
Molesley said: “We have let a couple of people leave the club and unfortunately that has coincided with us picking up a few injuries. We are not getting the rub of the green on the injury front, it is a bit frustrating.
“Ryan Glover is a welcome addition to strengthen us because we are a little bit thin on the ground at the moment.”
Ashley Wells will also be out with an injury for a few weeks that was picked up in the 3-1 win at Taunton Town in the FA Trophy first qualifying round, Molesley confirmed.
Molesley said: “I do not think we will see Ash next week or for the next few weeks so that is just about how quickly we can clear that up we will just have to monitor that week in week out.
“Unfortunately that is another injury that we have picked up.”
