The Terras travel across the Severn Bridge and into Wales for another tough clash against Merthyr looking to close the gap to Taunton to 3 points. Weymouth currently sit 3rd with 53 points from 27 games, 6 points behind Taunton albeit with 2 games in hand.

The visitors go into this game after a pulsating 4-4 draw with Met Police and after the draw and looking ahead to this game, manager Mark Molesley spoke to; “We have to use today (Saturday) as our motivation and fuel for our fire and try and kick on.

“Merthyr are a good team, we have to go to Wales, play on Astro turf and be on our mettle. These games are coming thick and fast now.”

The home team last played on the 26th of January and drew 2-2 with Tiverton Town. Merthyr are 8th in the league having played 27 games and picking up 42 points in return, 3 behind Poole who occupy the last play off place. The last home game Merthyr played was on the 19th of January which resulted in a 1-0 win over Basingstoke.

The two teams haven’t met this season but last season saw Weymouth complete the double over Merthyr with a 3-2 home win with a Brandon Goodship hat trick. The away fixture saw the Terras pull off a 0-3 victory with goals coming from Harry Baker, Josh Carmichael and Brandon Goodship.
