All of a sudden we go into our third game of the season after an opening day victory over Maidstone at the Gallagher Stadium and then a hard-fought draw at the Bob Lucas Stadium against Bath City. It is a quick turnaround and we return to the Bob Lucas Stadium on Saturday. Chelmsford City are the visitors, another team that were tipped to do well at the start of the season.

If last Saturday and Tuesday is anything to go by, then we can be sure that this league is the real deal, there are some top teams with excellent players. In the first two games though, the Terras proved they were more than a match for their opponents. Mark Molesley’s men will once again have to show what they are all about against the Clarets, a team that ended up finishing in the 4th and in the play-off places last season.

Chelmsford started the season with a resounding 4-1 win at home against Hampton and Richmond, however they lost 2-1 at Concord Rangers on Tuesday night. On Thursday they announced the signing of defender Jarvis Edobor who was recently with Brentford.

The Terras go into the game with a full squad to choose from but Liam Farrugia has joined AFC Totton on Duel Registration. No doubt more game time will help with Liam’s development.

Terras Full Squad: Ward, Childs, Rees, Wells, Harfield, Zubar, Buckley, Olumuyiwa, Brooks, Rose, Wakefield, Ngalo, McCarthy, Baggie, Murray, Odubade, Robinson, Hoey, Thomson, McQuoid, Williams

Thoughts from the gaffer

“It’s been a good start for us so far but the games come thick and fast and Chelmsford are another team who have been in the play-offs the last few years.

They’re an experienced team with good players but every team in the league’s going to throw up a tough challenge for us.”

“This is the nature of this league – it’s unforgiving, relentless. When you’re part of it you’ve got to strive to improve and keep learning.”
