WEYMOUTH boss Mark Molesley hopes to take advantage of facing Merthyr twice in quick succession, starting tonight when his side visit Wales in their Evo-Stik Southern Premier South clash (7.45pm).
The match marks the start of a double header which sees two of Weymouth’s next three matches being against the Martyrs, but Molesley does not think over-familiarity will be a problem.
When asked if facing them twice in short succession will be an issue, Molesley said: “No, we take each game as it comes. We take each game on its own merit.
“We will go there, do the best we can to win the game and then the next game will come about. Sometimes it can be an advantage or a disadvantage whatever way you look at it.
“We will look at it as advantage, we have played against them we will know what to expect, and then hopefully we can do that again.”
Weymouth’s record against Merthyr is exceptional over the past 20 years, having lost just once in that time. The two sides are yet to face each other this season but Brandon Goodship picked up four goals across two games against the Martyrs in last year’s campaign.
Ashley Wells missed Saturday’s game due to an injury, but Ben Thomson and Sam Sherring made their returns against the Met Police, but, other than that, the injury list remains unchanged for Weymouth.
