Dorset Senior Cup
Following negotiations between the club and Dorset FA we have been left with little alternative but to play our re-arranged semi-final against Poole this coming Tuesday 12th. We wish to put on record that that we don’t have any grievance with Poole Town in any of this and that they have acted within the rules of the competition.
The clubs major concern was that the Metropolitan Police game has already been re-arranged four times, and we know how costly this can be and hard for the players to arrange time off work. Additionally, Brandon Goodship has been selected for England C, this meant that if we played Metropolitan Police on the 19th March we would have had to withdraw Brandon from the squad, which is something that we wouldn’t want to do.
Fortunately, the Southern League have seen Brandon’s call up as a feather in their cap and have supported us in our request to avoid this possible clash, something the Dorset County FA failed to do.
Having been threatened with large fine for a withdrawal, we have been left with no choice. We would finish by apologising to our sponsors for Tuesday night’s game and hope they are able to join us for the rearranged league game.
