WEYMOUTH boss Mark Molesley praised the “brave” Josh McQuoid for blasting home the Terras’ latest penalty in the 2-0 win over Slough Town.
McQuoid’s strike was only the 10th successful conversion of 18 Weymouth spot-kicks this season.
But Molesley hailed the former Northern Ireland international’s composure in stepping up to score.
He told Echosport: “What I would say is how brave Josh was.
“It’s almost laughable because our penalty situation hasn’t been great and the pressure builds.
“Josh showed all his experience to focus on that and commit to a great strike – it really was a great penalty under a hell of a lot of pressure.
“You could feel and sense the crowd as soon as we got it, it was like ‘hooray!’ and then the panic set in.
“It was duly dispatched. I thought he was really brave and showed a lot of bottle to get up and take it, which shows what he’s about.”
