Weymouth are looking to turn their form around as they take on Wrexham at home on Tuesday evening.
The fixture will be Weymouth’s last home fixture before Christmas. Brian Stock’s side have lost the last four games on the bounce, recently succumbing 2-1 away to Wealdstone last Saturday after leading the game 1-0.
Wrexham have had a mixed season. The Red Dragons are tipped for success following a takeover from Hollywood superstars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny. The Welsh sides recent form has dipped, losing their last two games to Altrincham and Torquay United respectively.
The Terras will have to be wary of Tanzanian international Adi Yussuf. The striker, on loan from Blackpool, has netted 3 times so far this season. Wrexham boast another international in the form of Guyana winger Anthony Jeffrey. The former Arsenal youth player featured in the 2019 CONCACAF Cup.
The Terras last game against tomorrow’s opponents came in a 2-0 defeat on the final day of the 2008-09 season. A game of which had little importance to Weymouth, as the side were already relegated. The Red Dragons did the double that season, winning the reverse fixture 3-1.
Recent results have shown the Terras fight is strong, and they need a result, and beating a side that has been given a big morale boost earlier in the season could give Stock’s men a lift right before the Christmas fixtures.
Thoughts from the Manager
“We’ll be going into (Wrexham) with quite a few players missing but we can take a lot of positives against Dagenham with 10 men. Hopefully we’ll put that poor run of games behind us and focus, because it’s vital we start putting points on the board.”
Cam Murray could return from concussion, Ollie Harfield (ankle) is likely to miss out while Calvin Brooks (knee) plus Andreas Robinson (hip) are doubts.
