Weymouth Manager Brian Stock visited Chickerell Primary Academy as part of the Non-League Child/Food Poverty campaign.

Former Terras player Ben Gerring has been the driving force behind the campaign to make sure many children don’t go hungry at this time of year.

Weymouth Director Ralph Ricardo commented, “We are delighted to support initiatives like Ben’s and we believe that this is an important way that we can support our wider Terras Family. This has become a vital part of our club and community working together and this will grow going forward.”

Brian Stock visited the school and despite not being able to go in and talk to the pupils due to Covid-19 restrictions, he added, “It was great to be able to offer support to families that may be suffering at this time. It is so important to connect and offer support to our local community.”

Chickerell Primary Headteacher Jodie Harris was pleased with the initiative, “Chickerell Primary Academy are delighted to receive three wonderful hampers from the football club today to assist us in supporting our families at Christmas time. COVID has impacted on so many of us, in so many ways, that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, can benefit from a little extra help. We very much appreciate this gesture.”

We wish everyone at Chickerell Primary Academy a Merry Christmas.
