Dominic Revan has returned to Aston Villa after suffering a broken jaw in the recent game against Torquay United. The influential defender played seventeen times for The Terras after joining on loan in January.
Weymouth boss, Brian Stock, hailed the impact Revan had during his four-month stay and tipped him for a big future in the game, “I was delighted he chose to join Weymouth Football Club. He came into the side at a time when we were struggling. For a player to come out of the Premier League and join a club languishing at the bottom of the league and in a relegation battle speaks volumes about his character and mentality. I believe Dom has all the attributes to make it at the highest level.”
“His performances have been excellent not only in matches but also in training. The one key thing was the consistency he brought to the team and the relationship he had with the back four and the goalkeeper.
“Sometimes when you have players that come out of a Premier League club attitude, desire and mentality are always questioned but from day one Dom has been excellent and it’s no coincidence that our results improved and it allowed us to keep a high line because of the pace he possesses.
“Everyone is disappointed to lose Dominic. I think it speaks volumes for his character that he carried on against Torquay knowing that he’d broken his jaw bone. He’ll walk away from this loan spell, I believe, with fond memories and so will we.”
Brian Stock highlighted how the loan deal worked well for all parties involved and his hopes of building on this relationship, “Aston Villa have been excellent from day one. They have been very professional and very supportive, not just for Dom but for us as well. When you look back on the whole loan spell it’s a very positive one. Hopefully, this relationship will be something we can utilise going forward in terms of future loans.
“I want to wish Dom all the best for the future and special thanks to Aston Villa for allowing us to have Dom and trusting us with their up and coming talent”.
Everyone connected with the Weymouth Football Club would like to thank Dominic Revan for his efforts throughout his time with the club and we look forward to seeing his career develop.
