Weymouth Football Club are delighted to announcing the signing of former Celtic defender Chris McQueen ahead of the 23/24 season. The Scotsman becomes manager Bobby Wilkinson’s 5th summer signing.
The 21 year old had previously been at Stenhousemuir after ending a 10 year stint at Celtic. McQueen has also gained some international experience having played for Scotland’s U17’s. Manager Bobby Wilkinson is “looking forward to working with the youngster”
Wilkinson continued his delight in capturing the signature of McQueen saying: “After watching and meeting with Chris I could see he has a real passion for the game and is a hungry young defender”
“McQueen is a great young talent for the future, having come here with great pedigree and international experience”
On signing for The Terras McQueen said “I’m excited to be here, the gaffer has been really good with me when we have spoken. I hope to go and help the team challenge at the top end of the table.”
“Personally this will be good for me to develop and push on.”
