Weymouth Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of defender Charlie Rowan from Oxford City. Rowan becomes the clubs 12th summer signing and the second of the day after the confirmation of striker Norman Wabo.

Rowan was on loan at Weymouth last season from Oxford City, but saw his season cut short after a shoulder injury which required surgery. Rowan would later return to football making 12 appearances and scoring once helping to secure promotion to the National League.

Manager Bobby Wilkinson was delighted to get the signing of Rowan done saying to Weymouth media team: “Charlie’s a very good centre half, he’s powerful on the ground and in the air, he got promoted with Oxford City last year”

“He’s brilliant to have with this new squad, with his experience of the league”

Charlie Rowan again emphasised it was a chat with manager Bobby Wilkinson that convinced him to sign saying “I’m buzzing to be joining such a big club, I had really positive chats with the gaffa and we share the same views”

“I want to be fighting for promotion and getting the club back to where it should be, can’t wait to get started! See you soon terras!”

WELCOME CHARLIE!
