Following the news that Hamworthy Utd have tendered their resignation to the Southern Football League with immediate effect, I would like to wish all those connected with the Hammers the best of luck going forward.

When we agreed to host Hamworthy it was always with the view that its was to help enable the club to continue on their journey in the Southern League Division One (Step 4). Unfortunately that journey has now come to an abrupt end and I would like to place on record the great respect that I and our Board have for our counterparts at Hamworthy. Having seen how hard the struggle has been for them, I was very impressed the way they have carried themselves with great poise and dedication and I for one hope that they can take great solace from the fact they did everything they could to make it work.

Finally whatever the future holds for them I hope they are able to rebuild and push forward again and let us hope the impossible the situation which they have found themselves at no fault of their own is never repeated again.
