MARK Molesley says he believes his side deserved “at least a point” in the aftermath of Weymouth’s 1-1 draw at home to Chesham United.
Calvin Brooks equalised for the Terras after 87 minutes, following Bradley Clayton’s 49th-minute strike.
Weymouth are now three points ahead of Taunton, who beat Hendon 3-2 to close the gap at the top to three points with two games left.
When asked how big a point it was, Molesley told Echosport: “Only time will prove that.
“What I can say is that it was a good reaction from the boys.
“It was a frustrating afternoon but we did not give up. I think we deserved at least a point in the end.
“I think we were not great by our standards but sometimes at this stage of the season the performances are not always the best performances.”
Should Weymouth win, combined with Taunton not beating Merthyr, the Terras will be crowned champions.
Molesley said: “It is about grinding out results, and getting something out of the game when you are not quite at your best and we certainly did that (against Chesham).
“The last two games we have not been quite at our best and hopefully we will react more quickly, and history tells you these boys react quickly and there is no bigger game than (Poole).”
Molesley added: “It is a very quick turn around, they have had a hot day (against the Generals) so it is just about trying to recover the best you can and be ready to go again.”
Josh Wakefield landed awkwardly late on, but after the match Molesley thought he was OK.
