WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley admitted it was the poorest his Terras side have been during pre-season, after they fought back to beat Poole Town 2-1.
Ex-Terra Josh Carmichael handed Poole a lead early in the second half, before Stephane Zubar and Josh McQuoid scored to hand Weymouth victory.
Molesley told Echosport: “It was a great exercise for us, we have learned a lot.
“I think we struggled, that was the poorest we have been in pre-season, for a large period of the game, which is disappointing but also we have thrown up a lot of problems and we have had to think quick and try and solve them.
“Nine of the players got their first 90 minutes (against Poole), so we have ticked that box, we have finished really strong which is good but the first part was not good enough from our standards, and for what the boys have shown.
Molesley praised his side for how they have approached pre-season, which has seen them go unbeaten in five matches so far, with four victories and is glad that they can look to fix the low from the Poole match.
Molesley said: “Their attitude and application has been fantastic all through pre-season but maybe (against Poole) we hit a bit of a low.
“I am glad it has happened, because we can fix that, look at how we can improve and how we can do better and deal with certain situations a little bit better.
“At the end of the day we got everything we needed out of a pre-season friendly, we had a tough examination, we found out a lot of things.”
